The ranch, located in Robertson county in central Texas in the tiny town of Ridge, was founded by Jeff and Susan Hance in the year 2000.  With the help of God and family I have been able to fulfill a life long dream of ranching.  We purchased our unimproved piece of Texas in 2000 and spent the next 4 years making improvements and getting ready for our first herd of commercial Angus cross cattle.  Sad to say things didn't go as planned as the drought of 2005/2006 forced us to sell our entire herd.  A sad day indeed.  But, as the rains returned that same winter and then spring I was again ready to purchase my next herd in the spring of 2007.  But this time, after much research and better planning I decided to start a smaller herd of registered Black Angus cattle.  They were chosen for their moderate size, excellent beef quality, mothering instincts and docile disposition.  We have not been disappointed.

In our breeding program we look for cows that have the traits above and also have good pedigrees and the correct phenotype that give their offspring eye appeal in the show ring.  We have then matched the cows with an exceptional bull that is also docille with a large fleshy frame that has correct phenotype.  The offspring in this breeding program will do very well in all areas of cattle marketing.  They will succeed as replacements, at beef auctions and also in the show ring.  The herd is mainly raised on grass and hay along  with quality minerals and limited supplements as needed.  We now go by the old school of thought by only carrying a herd that the land can support on its own even in drought conditions.  We carry 1 cow per 4 acres, which greatly decreases overhead on items such as fertilizer and feed grains.  The end result is a  more profitable herd.

We are sure we can supply high quality cattle to improve your herd as well as compete in the show ring.

We thank you for visiting our site and hope that you have a blessed day.
